Vitec 3000

Vitec® 3000 is a liquid antiscalant developed to prevent scaling on cellulose acetate and thin film membranes. It can also be used as a dispersant.
Vitec® 3000 is compatible with organic flocculants. These can be contained indirectly in any town water. They can enter the water directly through a flocculation application of the inlet. Vitec® 3000 can be used concentrated or diluted in a wide range of applications. The exact dosage amounts can be determined with the Avista Advisor calculation program.

Vitec® 3000 achieves optimum performance when injected downstream of the multimedia filter and upstream of the candle filter. Sufficient mixing should be achieved. Vitec® 3000 should be used after dechlorination (sodium bisulfite, activated carbon). The effectiveness of the product is reduced in the presence of chlorine.

Vitec® 3000 should not be diluted more than 1:10. Thus, an optimal effect of the bacteriostatic agent contained in the Vitec® 3000 is achieved.

Dosage instructions:
The typical dosing range is between 2 and 5 ppm. The optimum quantity can be determined with the Avista Advisor computer program.

Packaging and storage:
Vitec® 3000 is available in 23 kg canister, 230 kg drum  and 1100 kg IBC container. The product should be protected from frost during storage as the active ingredient would precipitate under extreme temperatures. Heating of the product and subsequent stirring brings the active ingredient back into solution.

Physical properties:

Appearance:  slightly yellowish liquid
Density:  1.25 +/- 0.05 kg/litre
pH:  9,8 to 11,8

Technical properties:
Vitec® 3000 Antiscalant offers a variety of application possibilities:

Prevents RO membrane scaling caused by the following

substances:+ Calcium carbonate (CaCO3)
– Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) < 2.5
– CCPP > 900
+ Calcium sulphate (CaSO4)
– up to 3.5 times oversaturation
+ Barium sulphate (BaSO4)
– up to 105 times oversaturation
+ Strontium sulphate (SrSO4)
– up to 20 times oversaturation
+ Calcium fluoride (CaF)
– up to 1000 times oversaturation

Dispersion properties reduce colloids and suspended solids fouling on the membrane surfaces.

Compatible with organic polyelectrolytes

Complex formation with heavy metals, thus heavy metal fouling reduced
Compatible with all standard RO membranes

Working range from pH 2 to 12
