RoCide® IS2

RoCide IS2 is an extremely effective, non-oxidizing biocide based on a 1.5% isothiazolinone mixture. It is a broadband biocide used in reverse osmosis applications for common microbiological contaminants including bacteria, fungi and algae.

RoCide IS2 is predominantly added continuously to the feed water of the reverse osmosis system and can be used alone or in combination with RoCide DB20, or another Avista biocide.

Application:
For continuous dosage, RoCide IS2 should be fed into the inlet of the reverse osmosis system with an initial dosage of 15 ppm. This dosage should be maintained for one to two weeks. The biomass is then determined in the feed and concentrate flow. The dosage may be reduced (usually to 5 ppm or less). A microbiological success is generally achieved when the bacterial count in the concentrate drops below that in the feed stream (taking into account the concentration factor).

Alternatively, RoCide IS2 can be used discontinuously with 50-100 ppm for 4-6 hours per week. In addition, it is a highly effective system protection agent; with the above indicated dosage, the biological growth in offline systems is kept under control for longer periods of time.

The local regulations must be observed for drinking water applications.
